Every year,
I find this a very difficult task, for a very simple
reason, and that is that I have so much to say but so
little space to say it in. I commence this editorial piece
by mentioning the pride that overwhelms me in my knowledge
that this is out third yearbook. It seems to me to be only
yesterday when we decided it was time to start issuing our
own yearbook. Since then a great deal has taken place,
most importantly the flourishing of Riyada Language
School, and the strong well-established reputation it has
earned. Another abundant source of my pride, is the fact
that this past academic year saw the graduation of our
very first class; it was a memorable moment seeing them
standing there at their graduation party.
All this
could not have been possible, if it were not for the
remarkable staff of teachers. We have made it our duty to
teach our students not only the different syllabi, but
moreover lessons in self-respect and respect of others,
self-integrity, honesty, a sense of responsibility, and we
have fostered and nurtured in them skills that will help,
if not ensure their success, whatever walks of life they
choose to proceed in, such as self-reliance and the
importance of analytical, critical thinking.
Our strategy
in recruiting teachers has enabled us to have amongst our
staff some of the most experienced teachers in Alexandria,
passing down that experience to a new younger generation
that guarantee these ongoing high standards, we
continuously send off our teachers to both internal and
external courses.
Furthermore,
it gives me great pleasure to announce an unprecedented
act, and that is the offering of five scholarships to the
top five students of El Adadiya Certificate in Alexandria,
because of our firm belief in the leading educational role
that we must undertake. This step will allow these
students to benefit from the professional staff that we
have, helping them to extend and develop their abilities,
as well as encourage our own students to excel by creating
a highly competitive atmosphere that will assuredly be
benefited from all.
Last but not
least, I would like to sincerely thank the parents for
helping us to implement our principles through their
support, and belief in our abilities, thus boosting our
confidence and spurring us to carry on with what we have
begun.
